Eye drops do not cure dry eyes

The tear film is made up of water and oil. Oil is the layer that water-proofs the water so it doesn't evaporate.That is why lubricating eye drops do not cure your dry eyes.Instead, you need treatment to regain a healthy oil-layer.

The oil is produced by the meibomian glands. Paradoxically, when the eyes are overly dry, it leads to over production of eyelid oil which leads to blocked oil glands,also called meibomitis or marginal gland disease. This, if left untreated, leads to styes!

Meibomitis

70% of dry eyes is due to meibomitis! Also known as meibomian gland disease or blocked oil glands.,

The treatment is to unblock the blocked oil glands and your dry eyes are cured!
